biography

The paths of Michael Brasic and Carmine Giovinazzo crossed at the time when Carmine was playing in the TV show Shasta McNasty (1999-2000) through common friends. Some time later, a friend of Brasic read in a magazine that Carmine was planning to make his own album and Michael immediately thought that he better used him for the drums. Through a combination of circumstances in 2007, Micheal ran through Carmine at a red light. After following him a few blocks, he finally managed to catch him. Carmine then told Michael that he was practicing with a young and talented guitarist, John Patrick Amedori, and the three of them decided to have a few sessions together and see where it might take them. A few weeks later, they realized that the three of them where on the same wavelength composition-wise and also noticed the chemistry between them. Ceesau started to take shape. In 2008, the first EP « Era Of The Exposed » was released through an online shop (but now only available on their official website), consisting five of their best compositions so far, with their friend Stephen Tecci (who was temporarily a member of Ceesau) filling for bass : How Do You Feel, Will She Get Over This, Wrote The Longest Word, Tear To Spare and Sunshine. Their EP was well received by underground critics and Ceesau was slowly but surely growing an international fanbase. Meanwhile, as the sells of Era Of The Exposed skyrocketed and as the band was gaining notoriety from the public, Ceesau kept writing new material. In 2009, it was announced officially that the band was working on releasing a full-length album, but couldn’t give any release date as their individual busy schedules makes it hard to stick to any solid plan. In recent news, it was said that the fans could expect the full-lenght around Spring 2010. The philosophy behind the name Ceesau Ceesau is a philosophy that started back in 1991 from a drawing Carmine made representing balance and equality in the world. The drawing show two kids of different ethnicities gazing from each other on an usually balanced seesaw (Ceesau). Growing up in a mixed neighborhood, prejudice was minimal. There was a great integration of nationalities in Carmine’s neighborhood and he always felt fascinated by the world outside of them making immediate judgment’s and the narrow way in which these people form their opinions. “ Some people don’t seem to give due time before concluding what it is they think or see…” explains Carmine, “… life, arts, music, the ocean, but most importantly the people walking around us. We realize the differences but we are still all the same. Ceesau as a concept of the bridge between all things that truly never needed one ! ” A World in Balance. Staying away from the extremes and being open to our differences. Ceesau has been title for many things throughout the years. A production company, a clothing line, charity and now… the band.
